For many people, the summer is the time to travel — the days are longer and the weather is warmer. If you’re headed out on a mid-summer vacation, or a simple road trip, don’t forget about your oral healthcare routine!
Travel Tips For Good Oral Hygiene
Oral health travel kit.
Keeping your mouth healthy is just as important as having the right clothes to wear! So when you’re packing your suitcase, be sure to include a small oral health travel kit as well! This kit should be fully equipt with an extra toothbrush, dental floss, braces-friendly flossers, mouthwash, and dental guas. Don’t forget to pack your retainer as well!
Pack correctly.
It’s not just about what you pack, it’s also about how you pack. For instance, pack your toothbrush in a well-ventilated container, with holes for air and draining water. Also, you should clean your toothbrush and case before and after your trip. These few steps will help protect your mouth from any bacteria or germs while you’re away.
Eat healthy.
We’re not saying don’t splurge on vacation, but try to stay away from unhealthy snacks as much as possible! Soda, sports drinks, candy, and other hard foods wreak havoc on your mouth and your overall health. Enjoy some treats in moderation, and be sure to brush (or rinse) after.
