Toothaches are a common problem for kids and they can be as distressing for the parent as it is for the child. If you find your little one in pain and you’re unable to visit your dentist right away, there are natural home remedies that can help. Although they won’t eliminate the cause of the toothache, the relief will allow both you and your child to go about your day, pain-free and stress-free.
Onion
Chew raw onion for a few minutes or place a piece of raw onion directly on the bad tooth or gum to relieve the pain.
Wheatgrass Juice
Wheatgrass has natural antibacterial properties that will help fight tooth decay and relieve pain. It will absorb toxins from the gums, reduce the growth of bacteria and keep the infection under control. If you wish, you can also simply chew on wheatgrass.
Pepper and Salt
Both of these ingredients have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties.
– Mix equal amounts of salt and pepper with a few drops of water to form a paste.
– Apply the paste directly on the affected tooth for a few minutes.
– Continue this process for several days until the pain is gone.
Garlic and Cloves
Garlic and cloves have antibiotic and other medicinal properties that can be very effective in reducing pain.
– Mix a crushed garlic clove (or garlic powder) with table salt (or olive oil) and apply to the affected area.
