Retainers
Once you get your braces removed, you may think orthodontic treatment is over, but you need to wear your retainers to ensure your teeth stay straight. Retainers are a piece of plastic or metal that are custom-made to fit your mouth, and they are necessary to maintain the new positions of your teeth after orthodontic treatment has been completed. Here at Speaks Orthodontics, we recommend wearing your retainers full-time for four months to ensure that your teeth don’t shift. After these four months, you can switch to wearing your retainers solely at night. Retainers are a lifetime treatment plan, so you should never go a night without wearing them!
