Best ortho of all times. Seriously! I went to 3 others who told me all sorts of weird stuff and he had no problem moving my wisdom teeth over to missing teeth spots which saved me like 3 implants in the long term. Super sweet office and knowledgeable doc! I am going to miss them!
Response from the owner:Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're thrilled to hear that our approach helped you avoid implants and that you enjoyed our office atmosphere. We’ll miss you too and wish you all the best!

I visited Speaks Orthodontics to straighten my teeth before my upcoming wedding. I was originally quoted 18 months for treatment, I finished in just 12. The practice is clean, the techs are professional and kind, and Dr. Speaks is very talented. I appreciate that he is direct but remains supportive and encouraging. Highly recommend this practice!
Response from the owner:Thank you, Lauren! We're thrilled to hear about your positive experience and the results achieved ahead of your wedding. Our team strives to provide excellent care, and your recommendation means so much to us!

Dr. Speaks and team have been so wonderful throughout the process of my Spark Aligners! They are incredibly consistent and compassionate. The staff has always been so welcoming and kind - always taking the time to answer any questions I have and making each appointment feeling personable and not rushed. I'm so grateful for the team and smile with confidence these days.

I went in for a free consultation for jaw pain. Dr. Speaks was incredibly thorough and spent time patiently explaining what he was seeing and teaching me how to treat it. Turns out I do not need orthodontia! The front desk staff were very nice and Dalia, who is the treatment coordinator, was also very kind. 10/10 from me!

Oh, and my grandson is being treated by Dr. Speaks and he and his parents are very happy so far.
Response from the owner:Thank you for your wonderful feedback, Leila! We’re thrilled to hear about your positive experience with Dr. Speaks and our team. It's great to know your grandson is also receiving excellent care. We appreciate your trust in us!

Understanding the Cost of Orthodontic Treatment

One of the primary concerns for patients considering orthodontic treatment is the cost involved. The price of braces or clear aligners can vary significantly based on various factors, including the complexity of the case, the type of treatment chosen, and the duration of the treatment plan. Understanding these factors can help patients budget effectively and make informed decisions.

In addition to the base cost of treatment, patients should also consider potential additional expenses such as retainers, follow-up visits, and any necessary dental work prior to starting orthodontic treatment. Many orthodontic practices, including Speaks Orthodontics, offer financing options and payment plans to make treatment more accessible. It's essential to discuss these options during the initial consultation to find a plan that suits your financial situation.

Common Myths About Orthodontics Debunked

Orthodontics is often surrounded by misconceptions that can deter individuals from seeking treatment. One common myth is that braces are only for children and teenagers. In reality, adults can benefit from orthodontic treatment just as much as younger patients. Another myth is that orthodontic treatment is purely cosmetic, when in fact, it can significantly improve oral health, bite function, and overall quality of life.

Debunking these myths is crucial for encouraging more people to consider orthodontic options. For instance, many patients are unaware that modern orthodontic solutions, such as clear aligners, offer a discreet and effective way to achieve a straighter smile without the traditional metal braces. Educating potential patients about these truths can lead to better health outcomes and increased confidence in their treatment choices.

Maintaining Oral Hygiene During Orthodontic Treatment

Maintaining proper oral hygiene is crucial for anyone undergoing orthodontic treatment. Braces and aligners can create additional challenges for keeping teeth clean, making it essential to establish a diligent oral care routine. Patients should be encouraged to brush after every meal and consider using additional tools like interdental brushes and floss threaders to ensure that food particles and plaque do not accumulate around brackets and wires.

In addition to regular brushing and flossing, patients should also schedule regular check-ups with their orthodontist to monitor their progress and address any hygiene-related concerns. This proactive approach not only helps to prevent cavities and gum disease but also ensures that the orthodontic treatment progresses as planned, leading to the best possible results.

Post-Treatment Care: What to Expect After Braces

After completing orthodontic treatment, many patients are eager to show off their new smiles but may not be fully aware of the post-treatment care required. The retention phase is crucial for maintaining the alignment achieved during treatment. Patients will typically be fitted with retainers and must follow their orthodontist's instructions on how long and when to wear them to prevent teeth from shifting back to their original positions.

Additionally, patients should continue to practice good oral hygiene and schedule regular dental check-ups even after braces are removed. This ongoing care is essential for ensuring the longevity of their results and for monitoring overall dental health. Understanding the importance of this phase can help patients maintain their beautiful new smiles for years to come.
